LIGHTS OUT – The Royal British Legion.

awalkthroughwar:

It’s past midnight here in England making it the 4th of August, marking 100 years since Britain joined World War One and the start of the 2014-2018 centenary.

Tonight, from 10-11pm the Royal British Legion is holding a “Lights Out” to mark the beginning of the centenary and you can buy special commemoration candles from M&S.

Even if you can’t get hold of a candle it’s a wonderful way to remember the soldiers and civilians who lost their lives in The Great War from 1914-1918 (and those who continued to suffer the effects afterward)

All profits from the candle (£4 each) go to the Royal British Legion and if you use your own candle and still wish to donate, follow the link they have a number you can text to donate.
