Commemorating the centenary of the First World WarIt’s past midnight here in England making it the 4th of August, marking 100 years since Britain joined World War One and the start of the 2014-2018 centenary.
Tonight, from 10-11pm the Royal British Legion is holding a “Lights Out” to mark the beginning of the centenary and you can buy special commemoration candles from M&S.
Even if you can’t get hold of a candle it’s a wonderful way to remember the soldiers and civilians who lost their lives in The Great War from 1914-1918 (and those who continued to suffer the effects afterward)
All profits from the candle (£4 each) go to the Royal British Legion and if you use your own candle and still wish to donate, follow the link they have a number you can text to donate.
