I was going to write a post about how it was bad, lazy writing that hit every Dead Lesbian trope out there, and was completely inconsistent with every portrayal of physical injury in the show, but–
One look in the Clexa tag and it’s literally heartbreaking to see how lesbian and bi women are taking this. This is something that straight people will never, ever understand, and the worst part is that we’re mad at ourselves for trusting these people. Finally, everyone though, we’re being respected (hah-fucking-hah), here’s a story about us; only to be brutally reminded that if you so much as act on your feelings, if you allow yourself one moment of happiness with another woman, you’re fucking dead.
At this point, I don’t really care if there’s some Twist in the City of Light that makes this all “okay.” Fact of the matter is, at best, a bunch of straight people are using a lifetime of trauma against us and calling it entertainment, pretending it’s progressive and for us, then acting like this decision came out of the fucking void.
I am not in this fandom and I can see how hurt people are…
I will, I promise! The current plan is to post all of the post-ANG Tumblr short pieces as chapters in one story on AO3. I just need to come up with a name for the collection of Tumblr shorts/gird up my loins to deal with AO3 (Adding in the GODDAMN ITALICS TAGS, what a nightmare.)
Ridiculous thing that might be useful. You can go from a word doc (rtf) and using the rich text editor, paste it in and it will keep the formating. I think you can copy/paste from tumblr to word and then import without having to do it all by hand. (It may work to go direct from tumblr to AO3 with the rich text editor directly but I haven’t tested it.)
What was Jack carrying in that one episode of SG-1? What is in the Winter Soldier’s arsenal when he goes after Nick Fury? If I were going to write a crossover between Universe A and Universe B, what weapons would they have – and would they be impressed by it? All of these questions can be answered here. The title says ‘movies,’ but it covers television, anime, video games, etc. You can also search by actor, weapon, or manufacturer, so, you know, if you ever wanted a complete list of weapons used by Alan Alda or Patrick Warburton in their careers… you can.
[I practically lived on this webpage when I was writing Recursivebecause I needed to know what the Howling Commandos were carrying, what Peggy was carrying, and the specifics of what HYDRA was firing at them. Because there is always going to be someone who will tell you if you got it wrong. 😉 ]
Golly it’s been a busy few days, art-wise. Amongst everything else, I’m trying to catch up on my commissions backlog. This is for @hanthenerfherder so look to them if you want to use it for anything! 😡
