Mild indigestion tonight when he goes to bed? Annoyance? Frustration? A moment of passing guilt before he is back in denial?

All the people writing these “well, lets give Ruffalo the benefit of the doubt!” Or “he made a mistake, he’s only human!” posts need to stfu.

Because these reactions on tumblr/twitter are literally the height of what Ruffalo will suffer over this. The movie will probably win oscars. The mainstream media will overlook all of this discourse. It won’t affect his brand, his image as an environmental activist, his finances, his career.

Mark Ruffalo doesn’t need your protection. Trans women do. Trans women whose lives are put in danger directly by films like this. If you’re coming out of the woodwork to white knight for Ruffalo today, your need to reassess your fucking priorities.
