It’s really not true!  A03 was designed to work both with standard, searchable tags and with tumblr-like freeform tags.  Because the designers understood fandom in its infinite variety! I appreciate you trying to help the AO3 Wranglers but it honestly doesn’t work this way – tag however you like fandom! Don’t worry, be happy!
