I dunno why people are commenting on ten and fifteen year old fics of mine from AO3 but thank you? It’s really nice that they are still getting read (or in the case of one comment, re-read).
upon learning Shuri is 16 in Black Panther, I quietly revise all my original shipping plans from “adults” to “Shuri is a hopeless baby lesbian with a crush on every single Dora Milaje and soon a big useless enormous crush on MJ, who is like a semi competent but mostly just grungy bisexual with a super popular twitter account that Shuri is obsessed with and MJ is s t o k e d about everything about Wakanda and tweets that she’s doing her senior research project on Wakandan tech and T’Challa, who follows his baby sister’s online crush’s twitter so he can forward Shuri the most embarrassing tweets that will make her furious (“YES BROTHER I DID SEE THAT SELFIE AND I DON’T NEED YOU TO REMIND ME OFF IT”), is like “this is the moment I was born for. This is why I became king” and tweets MJ like “we’re doing youth outreach, come to Wakanda, my very talented and smart and accomplished sister will give you a personal tour :)” and MJ and Shuri simultaneously die”
the Dora Milaje prepping for MJ’s visit by giving Shuri different and conflicting romantic advice until Okoye tells them it is against their sacred duty to torment the princess into a crush-induced panic attack because she cannot decide between her top twelve outfits and cool confident quips for making a good first impression
MJ meanwhile with Peter is repeatedly punching him in the arm because he just told her that he met T’Challa and she’s furious this hasn’t come up before, and also he’s Spider-man, but that’s not nearly as important as KING T’CHALLA WHAT, DID HE TALK ABOUT HIS SISTER AT ALL, MJ’S BEEN FOLLOWING ARTICLES ABOUT HER FOR YEARS AND SHE SEEMS DOPE AND CUTE AS HELL

MJ, who has spent the last ten minutes hiding in the bathroom applying deodorant to basically every non-face part of her body because she can’t stop sweating oh my god stop sweating you’re sweating on a three hundred year old chair in a sitting room in a palace in fuckin WAKANDA, and who is so stressed that she’s transcended the human for and is now astral projecting somewhere behind her own body, distantly pitying this new york punk gremlin who thought Formal Plaid was a good idea talk to a real ass honest to god genuine princess with a beautiful smile holding a small cat robot that she hand designed this afternoon on a whim: dope. I love murder. call me MJ

For everyone wigging out about the movie it REALLY helps to know comics canon here. The snap (people turning to ash/dead) isn’t permanent. Do I know that everyone that dies as a result of it comes back? No of course not, but in the comics the snap is undone.
Personally I think the fates that are settled earlier/elsewhere in the movie are more likely to be undone but dudes, it’s part one of a two part movie. They did a good job making sure ya’ll come to part two.
My girlfriend, Lara, and I have been fostering this beautiful boy for the past five weeks.
Miloš is a six-year-old retired racer who has quickly stolen our hearts and become part of our little family. Just look at that sweet face. If you don’t already know, greyhound racing is a horrific practice, and most dogs die by their 5th birthday.
We recently applied to adopt him permanently as our beloved pet. Unfortunately, our building body corporate has decided that greyhounds “cannot successfully live in a unit” and that we must give him up. As we explained to them when we applied to keep him, greyhounds are actually very well suited to apartment living. These big lazy goofballs rest for 23 hours a day, requiring only a 20-minute walk. They’re naturally quiet and short-haired, and so far, all our neighbours who have met him have loved him too.
Our boy is a bit spoilt. He gets two walks every day (3 on days that his walker comes) and more cuddles than even he knows what to do with. Despite investing in a $200 toilet for him, Miloš always waits to go outside. He is so well-trained that he never climbs on furniture, doesn’t beg for food, is gentle around children and other pets, and very rarely barks. His only vice is his love of chasing birds, but only when they’re flying. He’s just a sweet old man enjoying his retirement.
Regardless, Australian law means that you can buy your own home, but you still do not get the right to choose what to do with it. Understandable, if that pet is a nuisance to neighbours. Less understandable when that pet is happy, healthy, and causing no harm to anyone.
Families come in a multitude of diverse forms. We are a same-sex couple who chose to rescue a senior dog to give him a shot at a happy life. A decision which is, inexplicably, more policed than choosing to have children, which we would be freely allowed to do as a heterosexual couple.
We are planning to fight hard for Miloš. We know that he loves us just as much as we love him, and he deserves a happy retirement. This means that we must hire legal help, take our case through a convoluted and expensive legal system, and still have no guarantee that we will be allowed to keep our boy.
This is a long message, but it’s an important one to share. If anyone has any advice or experience in dealing with this situation, we’d love to hear from you.
We’d also love for people to be aware of how unfair this system is that the government permits greyhound racing knowing it is a cruel practice which does not adhere to even minimal animal welfare rules, and also refuses to allow citizens to rescue these dogs from a corrupt system.

Hey so we’re in a bit of a SUPER TIGHT FUCKING SPOT.
We got this last month, and we’ve been brainstorming how to pay it because we literally can’t lose the house right now. We have a plan, but I don’t know if it’ll even work so this is our last ditch effort to at least try and keep the bank from foreclosing on my mom.
Right now, we owe $1830.78. The picture is of our notice that we had a month to pay that amount and two of our cats who will be hugely impacted if we can’t save our home. It’s now April 20th and we’ve only got a few days left, but I haven’t been able to pull more than 15 hour weeks at work and despite applying to about 30 jobs, I haven’t heard back yet from any of them. So we’re in a lurch.

My friends and followers know I hate doing this. But at this point I have no choice but to at least try, because it’s not just my mom that’ll end up homeless if this happens – we have 6 cats. Two of them are nearly 13 years old and could not handle being left at a shelter, one is labeled as unadoptable and would be killed immediately because of her tendency to bite, one has bonded strongly with my mom and shows signs of depression when separated from her, and the last two can’t be separated from each other under any circumstances. We can’t lose the house.
I’m still searching for a better job, but even if I get one tomorrow there won’t be enough time to pay the past due mortgage. So please, if you can help it would mean the world to me, my mom, and our cats.
