John is a Sentinel and pilot in the Air Force, Rodney is a scientist and becomes his reluctant Guide for reasons you really need to read about. The military details, the angle this AU approaches the SGC from, the ‘verse it implies, the awesome Jack O’Neill in it are so interesting and refreshing. +++comfort fic
